Floating axles are not a new concept, but have recently become much more popular due to the growing horsepower figures in Pro Touring and race applications. For safety reasons, and the increased possibility of a flanged axle failure, floating hub kits are now standard fitment for many engineered street vehicles, classes of circuit racing, drag racing and rallying. By using a floater kit the axle is no longer a load bearing component, and only has to deal with transmitting drive from the diff centre to the wheel. If an axle does break, the car will still be safely rolling on all 4 wheels. Race Products floater kits utilise our ultra-reliable 4340 chrome-moly or our premium 300m high tensile steel axles.
